We Value Your Input
The truth of the matter is that, between 2006 and 2010, Trackers was developed and written as a series. There is a total of 110 episodes. The team visited 36 different parallel worlds, some multiple times. Rather than option Trackers and risk losing our rights, we decided to convert it into a web series and produce it ourselves, thus maintaining control over it.
In 2014, I proceeded to break it down into the three main plots and produce only these. This meant slashing some 50 episodes. There is a problem with this. Many of these episodes contain displacements and re-directions. It seems unfair to jam most of these into the third season and does no justice to the show. Here, I realized Trackers was no longer recognizable and the viewers would not be served well, to say the least. Besides delayed displacements (or search and rescue) pieces, I also realized there are a number of episodes with relevant themes that do not deserve to be ignored. There are some episodes that can be eliminated without disrupting the order of the show. If portions of some episodes are necessary, they can be referenced through flashbacks, though this has to be done cautiously.
But the tagline of the show is: "Search and Rescue Beyond the Bermuda Triangle", even though that's not all there is to it. Is it actually Search and Rescue AND Adventure Beyond the Bermuda Triangle?
I consulted with Ross about this because not only has he contributed a lot to the show, but he knows a lot about it. My thought was that we should bring this question directly to the viewer to find out if the preference would be to put on most of the show, produce only S and R episodes, or stick to the three main plots. We are, therefore, reaching out to you, the potential viewer, for your input, Please take our poll found on the website: trackers.weebly.com.
We have no illusions that issues such as interior sets and large props as well as difficult settings continue to be a challenge, however, that's subject matter for another blog. Right now, we'd like your opinion because rewrites, scene shoots, and SFX are relatively easy.
